Policies & Procedures

School Admissions

Children & Young People in our Care are given priority when school places are being allocated and for in-year transfers. Although the policy linked to below does not apply to CYPIOC, any policy or procedure relating to CYPIOC must refer to it and so it is included here for information purposes.

Fair Access Protocol

The statutory guidance that schools must follow relating to school admissions can be found on the DfE School admissions code page.

Attendance

Virtual School should be made aware of any attendance concerns relating to CYPIOC.

Should one of our young people not be accessing 25 hours of education, please make Virtual School aware and ensure the PEP is kept up to date.

Any variations to timetable should be recorded and reported on the Local Authority proforma.

Exclusions

Schools are requested to inform the Virtual School immediately that a pupil is at risk of exclusion and ensure that any exclusion paperwork is sent to Virtual School and Local Authority Inclusion team.

Schools are also requested to keep the PEP document up to date with accurate recording of exclusions and what strategies are being used to avoid re-occurrence.
