Pupil Premium Plus

Pupil Premium Plus (PP+)

Schools receive up to £1400 Pupil Premium Plus funding for each Child In Our Care. This funding is allocated to assist the school in providing additional and different support for these pupils. In some circumstances, schools may require further funding to cover the costs of provision. This can be applied for on an individual basis via completion of a request form which is available from Virtual School.

Funding is allocated as long as there is a PEP in place for the child, and the amount allocated may depend on the amount of spending recorded in the PEP (but would not exceed £466 per term).
For maintained schools within Stockton Local Authority (LA), funding is paid out termly. For Academies within Stockton LA, and all schools in other LAs, funding is paid out annually at the end of the financial year.

For further detail, please see the Funding Policy below.

Virtual School Funding Policy

Funding is recorded centrally and reported on annually through the Virtual School Head's report.

Using the pupil premium effectively

The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) have produced a teaching and learning toolkit. This provides useful information and evidence on the effectiveness of types of support which can be facilitated by Pupil Premium Plus funding. It also includes a self-evaluation tool to help schools measure the impact of their use of PP+.

These can be accessed on the DfE Pupil Premium: effective use and accountability page.
